Celebrate being a Woman, this Women’s Day!

Men and WOmen are not equals. Before you run to bash me, think of this – there’s a reason why God made us different biologically. While one can bear children, one can go out and nurture their family in a different way. While one has greater emotional strength, the other has a greater physical strength. Tallying the two is not the reason why God made two types of the same species. It makes sense that both genders work in an amalgamation to understand things and sustain life. Either way, I believe being a woman has all its perks and characteristics and this Woman’s Day, let’s celebrate being a woman!

1. Women constantly have something to worry about

We never run out of chores to finish, and things to worry about. If we’ve been able to send the kids to school, we wished we gave them healthy breakfast. If we could give them healthy breakfast, we worry about them linking it. If we see an empty tiffin we worry if they ate it, dropped it or fed it to the school cow!! So, we never run out of a chain of thoughts.

2. Shopping list good for nothing!!

The presence and absence of a shopping list are just the same! We usually never make one unless we have to hand it over to the husband. But even if we do take a copy with us, we almost always remember each and every item and go ship-shop on whatever we like. Needless to say, we shop till we drop, even if it is the grocery.

3. We Hate going to the Parlor

We hate going to a beauty parlor and get those brows and arms waxed, but we still do it. Here’s the surprise, we don’t do it for men, we do it to save ourselves from the judgment of other women who will pass smirks if they see one single strand of hair on their arm!! The entire species is worried about the ‘other woman’, so men can stop feeling so amazing about themselves. We aren’t even half as worried about you, as we are about our fellow women.

4. They are moody eaters

Well, most of them! They eat as per their mood, even though their hormones seldom forgive them for it. Once they’ve devoured 4 choco-lavas, with a tub of ice cream and a beer or two, they would sit down and shed tears. Not just because they are still sad and the food did nothing, but also about the tons of calories they just consumed. The guilt never leaves us.

5. We are usually dancing when we are cooking or doing random things at home.

We don’t care how we dance then!

6. Mirror Mirror on the wall…

Believe it or not, we do spend time looking at ourselves as well as talking to our selves in the mirror. Every girl has secretly looked at herself in the mirror for at least once in the lifetime thinking – ‘damn, I could have been a top-notch actress!’ I wouldn’t judge you if you’ve also said the Filmfare speech holding a talcum powder box!

7. I love it, I love it not!!

Applying make up needs a lot of skill – and it’s not just an act of vanity. Whether we love to apply makeup or not, we equally hate to remove it!!

8. We Adore Womanhood

Every time men try to belittle us as a wife or as being a girl, we deal with it. Not because we ‘have to’, but because we know where that insecurity comes from. So not really their fault, isn’t it! #justsaying 😆

9. We are proud of our community

We can be mean to each other, even cut-throat competitive sometimes. But we are also the most supportive of communities – look how women support other women today and half of your vines, jokes and lame WhatsApp forwards will eat dust! Every mompreneur will narrate how her circle of mom friends helped her in the initial days of her journey, and rightly so!

playing so many roles that a woman does today, it is nothing but naiive to still frame her in the stereotype that she is a “woman” and therefore not capable of certain things. She’s not incapable of doing anything, in fact, she’s just a bit smarter and knows how to get it done from you!! Isn’t that the case, my ladies? I adore womanhood and see no reason why one should feel low about being born with a certain gift!!

So if you loved reading this blog, you must share it ahead and in case you are a man and did not appreciate the humor, that’s ok, we understand 😉
